We overlook the sea of Riccione, but what we offer goes far beyond the view: it’s the privilege of feeling at home, with the rhythm of the waves in place of the clock.
Our name comes from a dream: the great ocean liner Rex, which in the 1930s embodied elegance, travel, and the promise of new horizons. Today that dream lives on in every detail—rooms inspired by ships of the past and an atmosphere steeped in the true spirit of the Riviera.
Since 1956, we’ve been the family hotel in Riccione for those who choose an authentic holiday, made of shared time and simplicity. Three generations united by a single calling: making you feel welcome.
No worries: our Repower charging station is always available. Because taking care of the environment is part of how we take care of you.
Here, families take center stage—but in a different way: no intrusive entertainment or rigid schedules, because we believe the real value lies in truly spending time with your children.
If you’re looking for a seaside hotel in Riccione for a family holiday, at Hotel Rex you’ll find a slow, authentic pace: some wake up early to cycle along the waterfront, others enjoy a leisurely breakfast, and some return from the beach only after sunset—just in time for dinner.
Every family is different, and we’re happy to welcome them all with simplicity and care. Because in our 3-star hotel in Riccione, real luxury is time spent together… just steps from the beach.

In building the three-star Hotel Riccione, the Vanucci family was inspired by the epic ocean liner Rex, the pride of the Italian navy in the 1930s and symbol of the dreams of an era in Fellini's film, “Amarcord”. After almost 70 years of history, tradition is combined with modernity to create a new concept of hospitality.
